Originality: 18/20
Writing: 18/20

Number three of the Elemental Witches series by Anya Bast. This book was amazing! The main character is one that we met in Elemental Witches, Book 2.

Claire helped Thomas escape from the demons on the other planet. Now, Rue has thrown Claire through the portal to Earth along with two other demon killers out to capture Claire. The two evil demons what to capture Claire because right before Rue pushed Claire through the portal he imbedded a small portion of demon magic inside of her chest.

Claire wanders Chicago trying to keep the demons far enough away from her so she can find help. She ends up running into a Dr. who does his best to capture her and have her hospitalized in a mental ward. She ends up getting captured but only temporarily until she is able to send out a distress wave to other air witches.

Thomas receives notification from the air witches of Claire's distress and he forms a group for a rescue mission. Adam, who is a fire witch, is ordered to keep her safe. He does that and a whole lot more.

The story behind this book is very detailed. The character development is also extremely detailed. Anya does an amazing job working this story together. I was surprisingly shocked that I liked Claire so much, seeing as she wasn't a main character before this book. It was cool to see Rue again. I'm so looking forward to the next installment!

Cover Art: Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler

peeler_tempest-rising-mm
Dear Author had a post up about this cover and I'm wondering what the deal is?

I think it's pretty. If you really look at the details of this cover you can understand exactly what's going on.

The issue over at Dear Author is that the cover art looks pre-teen pornish. I can understand where they are coming from. It does look very anime with a twist of teen porn. BUT take a closer look. Obviously this cover will draw your attention. Pick it up and look at it.

I think it's gorgeous. I'm really interested in finding more out about this book and it's author.

What about you? Failsauce or are you interested too? Share your thoughts here!

Desire Unchained (Demonica, Book 2) By Larissa Ione

This story is about Demonica brother Shade. We meet him in the first Demonica book that covered his brother’s, Eidolon, story. We learn that Shade, of course, is an incubus just like his other brothers. He ended a relationship with a human woman, Runa Wagner, because she walked in on him “engaged” with two other females. Shade is unique also. He has the ability to “beat” the deep, dark, nasty truths out of women, which ends up being a big part of this story as well.

We find ourselves in a dungeon with Shade and Runa chained apart to the walls. Their captor is very surprising and is the major plot of the story so I will not divulge that info.

Also, Runa is special now.

The captor trys to torture Shade with sexual acts without release. Left to die in his cell after the torture, he asks Runa to hurt him bad. She does and he gets all better. The captor does one hell of a cloak on Shade and Runa which results in them consummating the mating sequence, only Runa doesn’t end up with the tell-tale mating mark on her hand. They end up working together to escape.

Shade and Runa stick together to keep their captor away from Runa. Shade’s bonding has really impacted his defenses and he doesn’t feel safe if Runa isn’t with him.

That’s about as much as I should say about the basic plot of this story. There are a ton of details I didn’t hit on because, frankly, they are too important to just dish out here. The plot is complex and amazingly written. The characters are very likeable. Shade is just adorable in this book. Runa is a kick ass girl who doesn’t take any shit from Shade or his brothers, which is saying a lot when it comes to Wraith. I really enjoyed reading this book. The story and the world of Underground General are two things I appreciate when I read these books in this series.
I’ve already begun reading Passion Unleashed, which is Wraith’s story and I’m soooo looking forward to seeing how Wraith handles his change. Wraith is full of emotion and we get a sneak peek of that in Desire Unchained.

10/10!

Devil May Cry (Dark-Hunter, Book 11) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Way late review so some details will be lacking!

Devil May Cry (Dark-Hunter, Book 11)

This was an awesome book! I loved reading about Artemis's and Acheron's daughter Kat!
Kat was instructed by Artemis a long time ago to transfer Sin's powers over to Artemis. The claim was that Sin was trying to rape Artemis but of course that wasn't the truth.

Kat was then instructed to kill Sin per her mother's request. Kat and Sin had the instant attraction thing going.

They worked well together fighting the bad guys and finding the key they needed to help Sin's brother.

Acheron played a role in this book too, which was great. Of course he didn't know anything about Kat, which made it interesting.

BTW, Artemis is a major bitch! And if this book didn't open my eyes, book 12 sealed the deal.

Good read.

10/10!
